Catathon 31 days remaining

This is a long long vacation form blogging. I wasnt that far away from studying but wasnt that close too.
But enough is enough. Lets talk about future that past. Thankfully i have completed SC reading but i dont recall a single fact about what i have read.

Now as far as the plan is concerned. for next few days i will focus on practice of VA from TIME sectional tests. will try to find an hour on QA thread. plus a paper a day from last time series with deep analysis.

Catathon day 14

Its been diffrent . like all the other days i am having but anyway. SC in one non ending topic. I give myself 3 more days to finish it. clause is that i need to be home for that. anyway. i hope to complete it by thursday. while second session should be for quant. I forgot to mention about one failed mock where i scored literally 18 marks but it had 60 as its cutoff so a very low scoring paper. learning is know from the start of the paper how many attempts are worth in the given paper.

got through pronoun and verb suj errors today. i dont see any other topic will be completed. so

Catathon day 10

Reading GMAT sucess stories are big boost. i use them whenever i feel sad. now few of  the things i have learned from them today (Today is imp coz i will continue to learn from them in remaining 42 odd days.)

1) To select the mocks to give : CL mocks are a bit on easier side i think so its better to try time and other mocks as well . but for that i have to manage the number of mocks i am giving every week. i have fixed them to 2  but it has to be regulated.period!! so that will be some aim.
2) To be thorough on the topics. Now this is what i have been feeling from last couple of days. specially abt quant.I guess TIME quant material LOD 2 will be a good learinging experience. so thats that for now. time material solving. but that includes the doubts and analysis of mistakes.
3) It is nice to know i am going good towards SC making notes. so lets c where it goes.
4) The exam isnt about knowing all the concept but its about maximizing your score.


Thats that. now for today i really wish there was a way i could complete the SC all by today . so thats the task of the day i guess. try to go as far as i can in SC . I am doing SC from test funda right now. next step would be from Total Gadha then i might try some qs from MGAT SC not sure abt last one though. I still need to find good CAT level QBANK.

Catathon day 9

This is supposed to be RC day. I am just a bit ambiguous about it though. Given my SC is dead i guess next aim should be SC rather than RC.so till sunday it will be SC. 

Now, its hard to plan SC study as its totally read, read and read system but here is the plan - dont bother about taking a note or anything , just read the fundas through and try to solve as many questions. 

I will try to fix on the resources for SC e.g. Flash cards or question bank .i think a lot and lot number of questions solved will increase the efficiency of the these problems. so my blog might just see another post today after fixing the resources with today's labour fixed with it.

Ohk thats it . need to hurry on to first task on fixing what to read from . cheers :)

Catathon day 8

A day of nothing . Prepathon went into pooper. I am currently struglling on many account. Finding it hard to hold all myself together but ill pull through. I will have to stop these nothing days specially with just 45 days remaining. Its all about proper motivation. With this base 45 days can be a big boon if i try to prep to the mark.
Anyway a good news is that i got to crack the prock mock this time . though paper was easy 100 numbers are never easy. will have to see if it features in the toppers list.  so that will be the aim for prock mock from now, to appear into the toppers list.

Catathon day 6 & 7

Couldnt write blog yesterday. had a descent study session on yesterday which was a monday. I am getting enough confidence on Quant now. thats a good news. I dont know the way to expertise on Quant but the confidence i am getting is definitely welcome.
For today as it was earlier decided that study till Wednesday will contain just and just quant practice. So as per that schedule i have already completed a paper for quant for the day. I already have a test to give today . hopefully i will be able to perform better.

There are few things i have decided on for mock test.
1) Accuracy in QA/DI section.
2) Better selection of questions in QA

I have decided to practice and strategise RC from Thursday to next Wednesday.

Note : There is an interesting PG prepathon going on on PG from tomorrow on PG. Will be interesting to see how it helps. I have decided to go full on with it.

I have got to be more comfortable and confident about myself. hope will find my way to be that way. because for descent application of brain it has to be confident along with well prepared.

ohk. Sunday couldnt live upto the expectation . Somehow sundays have become enthu suckers for me. gotta improve.

Catathon day 4

Most important task of the day was to complete a mock test. I did complete the mock and sucked at it big. 58 isnt going to help . setback was the incorrect attempts. l14 in correct out of 38 is pathetic. was very careless at attempting LR. Attempted SC and erred at both at it. 2 stupid mistakes in QA would have got a close to descent score. I dont as of now know what to make of this up and down of scores but anyway lets c.

Catathon Day 3

Hi everyone. The reason i have started this blog is to keep track of what i am doing and secondly to sort of legitimize my efforts. anything thats printed on net seem legit right? anyway here is the summery of last day- couldn't study much in terms of solving QAs but stumbled upon many useful info about some of the exams. Biggest plumb has been that i couldnt give the test i decided to give. so i am carrying the burden of an extra test to be given in this week which i plan to give on saturday .

I am as of now still struggling to find the right way to increase QA score but currently i am decided on solving more problems will probably do that anyway. this week is my designated increase QA score week but i am not happy with the way things are moving right now.

so right now the thing to be done is

Maximize the number  of questions to be solved per day.

To learn from the question ( i suspect learning from a questions has been minimum so far)

Note :
I guess more rigor has to be put in to problem solving . Ultimately this is what is going to be tested anyway.
Not finishing the question is bad habit get away from it.
How about putting an extra daily to do about VA *** VIMP

Catathon day 2

Yeasterday was about the ramdom practice. It had some learning lessons in it. so i have decided with the same theme. I will almost about pick all mocks from 110x series and solve all the quant section from them . that will be the target till sunday . so by the end of sunday i will have solved all the 110x papers quant .

Catathon day 1

This will be the day 1 for starting strategic study . I have fixed my CAT date on 22nd of Oct. SO far i have had a descent practice of solving problems. I am getting just below 90s in my mocks so i presume if i work hard and strategically i have a descent chance of making this a CATworthy year.
I am entirely dedicating this day to Making week wise strategy for remaining 54 days i.e. just more than 7 weeks. I have decided to break these days into weeks and plan for week.


W I (Wed 28/08 - Sun 2/09 ) -- This will be about fixing my strong and weak areas in quant. I have decided on solving 2 mocks this week. one will be on Fri and second will be on Sun. 

Aim of these 2 mocks will be 1) to maximize the QA score (Above 45)
                                             2) to regularize the overall mock scores (they have been a bit inconsistent )

I will do careful analysis of these mocks again with same goal of deciding the weakness and strength.

So far as today's schedule is concerned first aim is to analyse prockmock 7 in daylight (not literally) and solving a QA DI test from TIME.

Note :- 1) Find other important material to be used from Totalgadha and testfunda plus any other material. Spen some time on surfing the resourses you have and these sites.
2) Using pagalguy QA thread is a task to decide on.
